COME AND JOIN US FOR A CLUB TRAINING SESSION AT SKI PEMBREY  TO TRY US OUT BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO JOIN OUR CLUB

Club training is at SKI PEMBREY on Monday night from 7.00 pm.  Club trainers are normally available until around 8.30 - 9.00 pm. For directions to SKI PEMBREY,  follow the link.  Occasionally during  school holidays, official training does not take place as the Club coaches and instructors may be away. We will try and post notice of any cancelled sessions on this site in the moving banner at the top of our home page.  Please note our coaches will not be in attendance on Bank Holiday Mondays.

During the summer dry slope race season we try to set a slalom course during each training session. Courses are only set when the ski slope is not too busy, as we do not have sole use of the slope. In winter months, slalom gates are set less frequently, allowing athletes to concentrate on developing their technical skills.  Good technical skills help athletes to progress more quickly and safely.

Swansea Nomads Ski Club insist that all trainees wear helmets and gloves and their arms and legs must be covered at all times to help prevent injury in the event of a fall.  Parents or Guardians are responsible for ensuring children in their care have and wear the appropriate safety equipment.  Any children not prepared to adhere to these requirements will not be allowed to train with our Club.

Skiing is a dangerous sport if safety is ignored.  Please give consideration to others and ensure you look across and up the slope before setting off.  Other skiers, less experienced and capable than our Club athletes, are often on the slope at the same time.  Unfortunately, a small minority of less experienced skiers and boarders pay little or no heed to their own safety, or  that of spectators and other athletes on the slope. Please be vigilant when training or spectating.
